The caries-preventive effect of topical fluoride is generally acknowledged in the dental community. However, differences exists between products. Researchers at the University of Aachen have analysed the caries-preventive effect of four different varnishes in different circumstances in an elaborative study. Their results, published in the distinguished journal ‘Caries Research’, show that the addition of casein phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate (CPP-ACP) in MI Varnish provides stronger remineralisation potential that especially high-caries-risk patients can benefit from.
