08/29/2024
The 6th Grant Application is scheduled to be open for 98 days from September 2nd to December 8th, 2024.
Mission and Philosophy
Since its founding in 1921, GC has launched numerous products in Japan and around the world, with the belief in delivering research-based, innovative products globally. We are in an era where awareness of oral health is recognized and compliance is essential.
In 2000, GC was the first dental company to introduce the concept of minimally invasive dentistry. Since 2015, we have supported the Oral Health for an Ageing Population project of the FDI World Dental Federation. As a Japanese company, this topic is especially relevant to us given our demographic situation as a super-ageing society.
Through the Nakao Foundation, we aim to prepare dentists for the care of the ageing population and their geriatric patients, promote oral disease prevention on a global scale, support and disseminate clinical research regarding the importance of oral health, and invest in education and scientific research.
We also strive to ensure that advancements in dentistry reach both dentists and the general public.
In September 2018, the Foundation Nakao for World-wide Oral Health was established in Luzern, Switzerland.
Mr. Nakao, owner and Chairman of GC Corporation, donated his privately-owned stocks of GC Corporation to provide funds for the foundation's operations. The foundation will be funded by both the dividends from Mr. Nakao's shares and contributions from GC group companies.
The foundation's aim is to contribute to the realization of a truly healthy, long-living society and a high quality of life by supporting research and analysis to improve global oral health.
Plans for the Future
The foundation operates with the aim of promoting academic research and clinical research on new treatments as well as raising awareness about new facts, considering the following challenges in our environment:

Further promoting the 8020 movement to increase the
number of people with more than 20 of their own teeth at
