As of June 24, 2021, Kiyotaka Nakao, President and CEO of GC Corporation, was appointed the ninth Chairman of the Japan Dental Trade Association (JDTA) consisting of eight member organizations (796 companies as of the end of June 2021) for development, manufacturing, sales, import and distribution of medical devices, drugs and related products used in dental care for diagnosis, treatment, prevention and so forth.

Foundation Nakao has received many grant applications globally and finally selected 7 Grant Winners for FY 2021.

The Foundation’s aim is to contribute to the realization of a truly healthy long-living society, as well as a high quality of life by supporting research and analysis to improve global oral health. We hope that this grant will support this activity globally.

On February 11, 2021, GC Corporation marked its 100th anniversary of foundation and announced the “Vision 2031” to all the group companies. GC Group started the 100th anniversary year on the same day.

On February 11th, GC will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the company’s founding in Japan in 1921. In honor of the centennial, GC has prepared initiatives, both for GC associates and the public, to commemorate and celebrate throughout 2021. As part of the commemoration, Dr. Kiyotaka Nakao, GC Corporation President and CEO, officially unveiled a centennial logo and slogan to be used across all GC companies worldwide throughout the year.

GC America will be hosting a free Bioactive Dentistry Symposium on August 21, 2020, starting at 9:00 A.M. CDT. All operatory dental professionals are invited to join minimally invasive dentistry experts, Dr. Jeremy Horst, Dr. Jeanette MacLean, and Dr. Douglas A. Young for a seminar on “A New Era of Bioactive Restoratives.” This trio of dentists have pioneered minimally invasive techniques and will share how to optimize the latest materials and techniques for the modern clinical practice.

Foundation Nakao for Worldwide Oral Health was interviewed by Dental Tribune International. The foundation was founded by GC Corporation’s Chief Corporate Advisor Makoto Nakao in Switzerland. The interview covers the background of the establishment and its future activities. In this interview, the foundation announced that detailed procedure and the criteria for applying for funding had been decided at the board meetings. The foundation is commencing full-fledged activities at last and shortly announcing application process on its website.

GC America Inc. is excited to announce the launch of our next- generation RMGI cement, GC FujiCEM® Evolve, on September 1st, 2019 in US and Canada. It is built on the legacy of GC FujiCEM® 2 which has been used for cementation over 17 million restorations. GC FujiCEM® Evolve is a radiopaque resin-reinforced glass ionomer cement in a syringe delivery with a tack-cure feature and high radiopacity. It can be used for cementation of a variety of substates and different types of indirect restorations.

Dignitaries and distinguished dental professionals from all over the United States came together on Friday, July 26th, 2019 to celebrate the grand opening of GC America’s new home at 3737 West 127th Street in Alsip, IL. The new building is now accommodating over 200 Associates and features a state-of-the-art education center, which consists of an all new seminar hall, training laboratory and operatory.

GC Corporation (Kiyotaka Nakao, President & CEO, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo) and the company, Showa Yakuhin Kako Co., Ltd. (Seiji Yoshida, CEO, Chuo-ku Tokyo), started a project to construct a new manufacturing building for dental products in January 2018. The construction of the new manufacturing plant for sterile pharmaceutical products was completed as planned on June 5th. The new manufacturing plant is a three-story building, with the total space of 5,339.23m2, located in Kawasaki-shi, Kanagawa-ken, Japan.
